Whilst sitting quietly and indulging in a moderately priced, precisely perfected, coffee bean beverage in a trendy Toronto coffee-spot, I thought about faith. Sometimes in life we make decisions against common sense or logic in the knowledge that we will, may be, or even are unlikely to be, rewarded for said decisions; however contrary to our sense of stability. I thought at this point about the difference between hope and faith.
Hope isn’t faith.
Hope straddles fear, rides concern and climaxes in a potential success, or failing.
Hope often puts fate into others hands.
‘I hope that we will always be in love’
Faith however is the greater of the two.
Faith fights fear and allows no time for self doubt.
Faith masters fate.
‘I have faith that we will always be in love’
Further to this, one must accept the greater knowledge of love and the universe. The perfect wisdom therefore reads…
‘I have faith that we will always be in love, should this be the best for us’
Those who hope, can lose.
Those with faith, know that they never will.
