119. Piano

Whilst exploring an island off the coast of Toronto recently I found an abandoned out building with two old pianos. Beautiful old, slightly mistreated, instrumental masterworks. As I plunged my fingers down on the long since tuned keys, I watched the hammers smash the strings with conviction and started to sing. This little haiku tries to explain how I felt.

I’m just pushing keys,
So much more than that, channel,

Something from the soul.
