151. Summer

Although it remains just a season caught as all others in a ceaseless climate cycle, summer means so much more to me than just a regular period of the year. It provokes a sense of awe and joy by breathing new life into our surrounds; glazing everything in a satisfying sparkling sheen, turning everyday banality into joyful informality and through this plastering a seasonal childish grin on my face. I have tried to capture the essence of summer with these following words.

They called you tree,

But they were wrong,

You, are so much more you see

earthbound green dancer,

silent geomancer,

your life let’s me breathe.

They called you sea,

But they were wrong,

There is so much more to thee,

Wet molecule canvas

Omni-forming grandness,

You exist for me.

They called you sun,

But they were wrong,

There is so much more you’ve done,

Cataclysmic father,

Lord of sky and answer,

To my cry for light.
