180. Law

Law and governance is a societal reality that we, as humans who live in groups, must come to fully understand over time. As children our parents are the law, until our teenage years when we rebel against them and become aware of societies overarching norms and codes of conduct. In adulthood, we start to question the vested interests of those passing laws and wonder whether laws are being used to personally condemn or hurt us. On a recent walk in Toronto I spotted a piece of graffiti (pictured above) which resonated with me. It inspired this haiku.

Love over law, clear

It reads in yellow text, near

 An alley, hides crime
