219. Islander

My partner and I recently hired a tandem kayak and went out to explore the Toronto Islands, a few miles out from the coast of the Toronto downtown. The experience was hugely enjoyable and one highlight was finding a tiny little unnamed island, within the larger island harbour. It was totally unspoilt by humans, with dense foliage and a seeping stillness; the stillness of natures authentic being. I wrote a haiku about the experience.

Still, humans don’t walk

As symphony of nature,

Plays uproarious.
