I treated my partner to a powerboat picnic the other evening after work. The prior few weeks had been filled with radiant sun, beautiful evening sunsets and weather so sublime that I had not questioned that anything but sun would glow as we dashed across the lakes surface. Our soirée was quite removed from this. A storm set in, we were forever running from rain and the water was choppy, abrasive and at times quite foreboding. It was so much fun. I wrote this haiku about the experience.
Skimming like a stone,
Over choppy, briney, cold
Fall in and you die.
