227. Army

The thought posted on the wall outside the Glad Days LGBT bookshop in Toronto continues to resonate with me long after I first read it. The concept that ‘an army of lovers cannot be defeated’ rings very true with my outlook that love is simply impossible to break by anything other than love – which is paradoxically impossible. Love is what exists beyond what we can truly understand. We can tell when people display true love to one another, but can we truly explain what opens us up to see this? There is a mystic beauty to love that renders it utterly invincible. I wrote this haiku about love.

Love is more than all,

When we’re gone it’s what remains,

You can not kill love.
