I am deeply enamoured with cities that manage to effectively blend an urban sleekness with natures more wholesome wonders. Stockholm comes to mind as a city I loved on visiting, for its deeply modern architecture, refreshing cleanliness and natural colour. In stark contrast, Budapest is probably my favourite example of the opposite. It bustles with a gritty history and sights of urban decay are more common than urban gardens. I wrote this haiku about the often beautiful juxtaposition of modern city buildings and timeless natural bounty.
Sleek, perfect design?
Or cast my eye to tree, see
Jagged, but complete?
