288. Caterpie

About the nature walk I took the other day and how I saved a Caterpie (photo attached)…

Deathwish Caterpie wiggles on road,

Squiggling hurriedly,

It doesn’t know,

Of thick rubber crushers,

No murderous intent,

Incoming from east,

The bikes that frequent,

This path are the killers,

Sunday ride chillers,

Never forgiven,

For crimes, as they didn’t,

So I act as saviour,

Using my shoe,

Pick up the Caterpie,

Bikes start to toot,

I’m sorry I mumble,

Heroic intent,

And the little beast,

Placed on leaf, off it went.
