About my recent painting experience..
Didn’t plan, propose, suppose,
Picked up brush and sliding paint,
Onto white my colour goes,
Three hours disappear.
In that time I found a man,
Sitting naked with no plan,
Washed with rain, a trailing hand,
I found him to be free.
(Below is my three hour attempt at painting)

Impressive!

Thanks, that’s very sweet of you. I was pretty pleased for three hours work with no real goal. I love painting with no focus, just seeing where it takes me. Eli

Cool! I really like all the motion in this painting! 👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks for the kind words. I was trying to capture the movement of water as a metaphor for life. We sit, in silent contemplation whilst everything around us blurs in a frenzy of motion.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

The rest of the story… Do you know what the man was doing? Thinking? It’s quite lovely and intriguing.

I feel that if I’d spent more than three hours I may have known. It was funny, I never thought once whilst painting this. I found him. Yet, didn’t have the time to ask him what was on his mind.
Something of my subconscious I’m sure. What’s on his mind is surely what it on mine.
Thanks for the kind words.

Eli, a lovely poem and an impressive painting done in three hours. I think the so called, “mindless projects”, actually capture a lot of substance, allowing the subconscious to drive the car. Wishing you a fantastic day! ~ Mia

Many thanks Mia. That’s sweet of you to say. I too believe in the power of mindless projects. They so often reveal truth even we may be yet to realise. Eli.

Beautiful! Your painting fits our current weather here– heavy rains. HA!
Keep it up. 🙂

I love heavy rain. One of my absolute favourite weather types

As for me, I’m torn. I love it when I’m at home but I hate when I have to go to work. 😑

Haha that’s a valid point. I love it either way though. Especially thunder storms. They make me feel alive.

Uh-uh. On the contrary, they make me feel half-alive. HAHA.

Haha why half-alive? What kills half of you?

PH is a third-world country and when it rains here, it rains really hard. I feel bad to stay comfy in bed while some people are outside sick and freezing.
Geez, this sounds like Mother Theresa though. Also, I really am scared of thunder. 😉

That’s true. The inequality of the world is awful. I completely understand your half-alive thoughts.
Thunder is so exciting though! It’s mother natures roar.

Thankyou. I rarely paint, but when I do things just come out. I never plan what I’m painting before hand. Ha.

Hey, Eli! I like where his hand troubles the water and makes a nice froth on the sea blue. And I like your expression of the experience! The creative process has a personality all her own, and we are subject to her beautiful whims 🙂
